American Airlines To Roll Out Free Wi-Fi For Some Flyers
The airline requires enrollment in their loyalty program to access the perk.
American Airlines is rolling out free Wi-Fi for certain flyers. The offer will be available for AAdvantage members and is expected to be on nearly all of its flights by spring.
Free Wi-Fi will first be available on its narrowbody planes and two-class regional jets. The Wi-Fi program is sponsored by AT&T and provided by Intelsat and Viasat. Once the roll out is completed, every advantage member can stay connected, stream, and share nearly anywhere for free.
American’s policy around free Wi-Fi is similar to Delta Air Lines, which was the first legacy carrier in the U.S. to offer free internet across its fleet. Both airlines require enrollment in their loyalty program to access the perk.
