Red Springs Names New Police Chief

Former North Carolina Highway Patrol officer and detective Antoinette Hurtt has taken on the role.

The town of Red Springs has named its new police chief.

Former North Carolina Highway Patrol officer and detective Antoinette Hurtt has taken on the role. She is a Robeson County native and member of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina.

Hurtt has also previously worked with the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office and local departments in Hope Mills, Hamlet, and Spring Lake.

“Hurtt blends strong operational leadership with a deep commitment to community trust and engagement, and is known as an agent for positive change,” Town Manager Shanelle Harris said.
