Highway Interchange Named After Former S.C. Governor

David Beasley served as governor from 1994-1998.

A highway interchange has been renamed to honor a former South Carolina governor.

David Beasley served as governor from 1994-1998. He was honored with having the first interchange on Interstate 20 named for his service.

Beasley was the second Darlington County native to become governor. His new honor is located at the interchange on I-20 at Highway 340.

Since his time as governor, Beasley has served as the chairman of the United Nations World Food program. Under his leadership, they received the Nobel Peace Prize.
