A record 8 million Americans are expected to fly sometime over the next two weeks. If you’re in that group, here are some tips straight from the TSA.
Don’t wrap your gifts. If your present triggers the alarm, they’ll have to open it and inspect it. Instead, they recommend using a gift bag.
When it comes to food, solid items like fruitcake, candy canes, and chocolates can go in your carry-on. Liquids and spreadable foods like eggnog, wine, champagne, sauces, and jams should be packed in checked bags.
Remember you need a real ID or passport now. Earlier this year, it became a requirement for adult travelers to have a real ID, passport, or other approved ID for flights in the U.S. In February, they will begin charging people who don’t have one.
When in doubt, send them a direct message. The TSA is pretty active on social media.
