People take chocolate seriously this time of the year.

In a new survey, 33% of Americans admit they have cracked open a box of chocolates that was meant as a gift and 23% have eaten candy from their kids’ stockings before christmas morning. 36% of Americans admit to stashing some “emergency chocolate” to help them get through holiday parties and family gatherings. A lot also say it’s their go-to “self-care” during the stressful holiday season and rely on it so much that they’ll hide their favorite chocolates from family members.
