Man Arrested For Assault Involving Juvenile

Charles Ponn is being held at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center on a $140,000 bond.

One man has been arrested in connection to a domestic incident involving assault. It unfolded on Sunday at a residence along Timmonsville Highway in the Darlington area.

Charles Ponn is accused of assaulting and adult and a juvenile victim. He then prevented them from contacting emergency personnel by breaking a cellular device.

Ponn is also accused of firing shots through a bathroom wall in the direction of another victim. He was eventually detained at the scene.

Ponn has been charged with attempted murder, domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, unlawful conduct towards a child, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and possession of a firearm by a person convicted of certain crimes.

Ponn is being held at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center on a $140,000 bond.
