Australian Beach Shooting Leaves At Least 15 Dead, Over 40 Hurt

The massacre marked the deadliest shooting in nearly 30 years in the country.

A mass shooting unfolded at a Hanukkah celebration on an Australian beach Sunday.

Two gunmen opened fire at the event on Sydney’s Bondi Beach, killing 15 people, including a child. At least 42 others were injured, while 27 of them remain hospitalized and several are in critical condition.

One gunman, a 50-year-old man, was fatally shot by police. The other shooter was identified as his 24-year-old son, who was wounded and is being treated at a hospital.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese called the shooting an act of Anti-Semitic terrorism. It was the deadliest shooting in nearly 30 years in a country with strict gun control laws.
