Sticking to a Bedtime Routine Can Benefit Blood Pressure

A simple tweak to your daily bed time routine…could lower blood pressure.
That’s according to a new study that suggests going to bed at the same time every night could help regulate blood pressure for those with hypertension. Researchers at Oregon Health and Science University tracked nearly a dozen middle-aged adults with high blood pressure, some of who were already taking medication to manage the condition. For the first week, participants were instructed to follow their usual sleep routines. Then, for the next two weeks, the group was asked to pick a bedtime and stick to it, with no daytime naps allowed. Researchers found that consistency resulted in blood pressure dropping.
