Alex Murdaugh is scheduled to appear in court once again.
The former lawyer was convicted of killing his wife and son in 2023 and filed an appeal last December. The S.C. Supreme Court is set to decide if one of the state’s most high-profile legal cases in recent history will be retried or not.
Murdaugh’s attorneys believe a retrial is necessary due to alleged misconduct by former Colleton County Clerk of Court Becky Hill as well as Murdaugh’s admission to financial crimes during the original trial. However, state prosecutors believe their case remains strong.
The court is set to hear the case on February 11.
