Lumbee Tribe Of N.C. Opens New Food Processing Center
The center will allow new opportunities for local farmers.
The Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday.
The ceremony started at 10am at the Lumbee Tribe Cultural Center in Maxton celebrating a new food processing center.
The new facility features specialized equipment and dedicated areas for processing, packaging, and storage. It is located behind the Greenhouse on Terry Sanford Drive.
The center will allow new opportunities for local farmers to care for their vegetables as they prepare them for market.
