Hatley And Render To Take Seats On Myrtle Beach Council

Jackie Hatley received 2,445 votes while Phil Render earned 2,635.

Current Councilwoman Jackie Hatley and former member Phil Render will take on a pair of open seats for the Myrtle Beach Council.

Render, who spent two decades on the council before refusing to run again in 2023, earned 2,635 votes. Hatley received 2,445. They beat out city business owner Nick Vaugh who got 1,646.

After the city’s election commission confirms the results Wednesday, Render and Hately will plan to be sworn in, in January along with Mayor-elect Mark Kruea. He defeated two-term Mayor Brenda Bethune earlier this month.
