U.S. Strikes Additional Alleged Drug Smuggling Boats
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said that they were known for transiting along known narco-trafficking routes.
The U.S. conducted another round of strikes against alleged drug smuggling boats in the Eastern Pacific Ocean.
The three strikes attacked four separate vessels, two of which were traveling close together. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said that they were known for transiting along known narco-trafficking routes and carrying narcotics. However, no evidence was provided to back the allegations.
14 people were killed but a search and rescue mission was conducted to locate the one lone survivor. This incident marked the first time multiple strikes were conducted on the same day as part of the Trump administration’s campaign against alleged maritime drug smuggling. So far, the operations have taken out 14 boats and killed 57 people, with three survivors.
