Mass Shooting Leaves Two People Dead, 11 Others Injured
49-year-old Jessie Locklear and 16-year-old Nehemiah Locklear were both pronounced dead at the scene.
A Halloween party in Robeson County turned fatal when shots were fired.
The shooting occurred just after 1am on Saturday along Dixon Drive just outside of Maxton. More than 300 people were in attendance when the gunfire broke out.
When police arrived, 49-year-old Jessie Locklear and 16-year-old Nehemiah Locklear were both pronounced dead at the scene. The two are not related.
11 other victims were injured and several are in critical condition. One of the victims had to be airlifted to a hospital. It was reported that over 150 people fled the scene before deputies arrived.
There was no threat to the community as the incident was believed to be isolated. No arrests have been made at this time but police do have persons of interest. Anyone with any information is urged to contact the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office.
