Ceasefire Agreement Violated After Hamas, Israel Attacks

President Trump claims that the ceasefire is "still in place" despite the weekend events.

Israel and Hamas both violated the recently agreed upon ceasefire deal over the weekend.

On Sunday, Israel carried out a series of strikes across Gaza after it accused Hamas of carrying out an attack that killed two Israeli soldiers. The Israeli strikes killed at least 44 people in several parts of the enclave.

Both Hamas and Israeli forces blamed the other for violating the peace agreement. Israel said the transfer of all aid into Gaza was being halted “until further notice” because of Hamas’ action and all border crossings to Gaza were being closed.

The Trump administration put pressure on israel following that decision, with Israel’s prime minister backing down from it. President Trump claims that the ceasefire is “still in place” despite the weekend events.
