Some CDC Staffers Reinstated After Mistakenly Laidoff

The reversal comes after the Trump administration laid off more than 4,100 employees across several federal agencies.

The Trump administration reversed layoff notices for some CDC staff.

Around 1,300 employees were notified of layoffs amid the current government shutdown. Those notified of layoffs included people on teams on infectious disease outbreaks, science and health data analysis and employee safety.

However, a federal official reported that around 700 layoff notices were accidental and those employees have since been reinstated. The mistakenly fired staff were sent incorrect notifications due to a coding error.
