Four Killed, 20 Injured In Beaufort Co. Bar Shooting

The shooting unfolded just before 1am Sunday at Willie's Bar and Grill on St. Helena Island.

Four people were killed and at least 20 others were injured in an early morning shooting at a busy bar in Beaufort County.

The shooting unfolded just before 1am Sunday at Willie’s Bar and Grill on St. Helena Island. A large crowd of people gathered at the bar. That included alumni from a local high school that was hosting an event.

The owner of the establishment described what sounded like rapid gunfire that broke out outside of the building, sending people seeking shelter.

The names of the deceased victims have not been publicly released. Of those injured, four remain in critical condition.

Authorities said they are looking into persons of interest, but further details are limited as they work to learn more.
