Four Myrtle Beach area authors have come together to launch Green Ferns Publishing House, a new small press dedicated to blending traditional publishing expertise with indie creativity.

Caleb Wygal, author of the popular Myrtle Beach Mysteries series, will serve as Chief of Marketing and Distribution for Green Ferns. He is joined by Maegwen Salley-Massie, Director of Operations and Acquisition, and Kelly Capriotti Burton, Creative Director—both local authors and entrepreneurs. Lisa Borne Graves, an author and Lecturer of English at Coastal Carolina University, will serve as Editor-in-Chief.

Their mission is to amplify new voices and highlight the unique culture of the American Southeast as well as bring a fresh perspective to the publishing landscape.

Green Ferns is rooted in collaboration, creativity, and community. By combining the experiences of its four founders—each an established author with varied backgrounds in business and publishing—the press offers writers both the professional guidance of a traditional press and the flexibility of independent innovation.

To celebrate its official launch, Green Ferns will release its debut title in October. Riptide: Stormy Stories from the Grand Strand is an anthology featuring original works from each of the four founders, showcasing local love and lore alongside
the distinct storytelling styles that inspired the creation of the press.
Riptide revisits familiar legends while breathing life into new ones, marking the beginning of Green Ferns’ commitment to publishing books that resonate deeply with both regional and national audiences.
