Trump Approves Alaska Mining Project

The Ambler Road project proposes a 211-mile road through an Alaska wilderness to allow mining.

President Trump ordered approval of an Alaska energy project.

The Ambler Road project proposes a 211-mile road through an Alaska wilderness to allow mining of copper, cobalt, gold and other minerals.

It was initially approved during Trump’s first term, but was later blocked by the Biden administration after an analysis determined the project would threaten wildlife and harm Alaska native tribes that rely on hunting and fishing.

The gravel road and mining project would be located north of Fairbanks and the president referred to it as something that should have been long operating. He said it would make billions of dollars for America and supply a lot of energy and minerals.
