Man Facing DUI Charges In Connection To Pedestrian Death

The driver was identified as 39-year-old Camerino Hernandez.

One man is facing charges following the death of a pedestrian in Horry County.

The crash occurred on Tuesday along Highway 707 in the Murrells Inlet area. A Chevrolet van veered off the right side of the road and struck a pedestrian that was walking on a sidewalk near Starbuck Lake Road.

60-year-old Elizabeth Coss did not survive the injuries she sustained. The driver was identified as 39-year-old Camerino Hernandez. He was taken to a hospital but was later released to law enforcement.

Hernandez has now been charged with felony DUI resulting in death and driving without a license, third or subsequent offense. He is being held at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center without bond.
