The pedestrian was killed and identified as 60-year-old Elizabeth Coss.

A pedestrian was struck and killed in Horry County Tuesday.

The accident occurred around 4:30pm near Starbuck Lake Road in the Murrells Inlet area.

A 2007 Chevrolet van was traveling south on Highway 707 when it veered off the right side of the road and hit the person who was also heading south along the sidewalk.

The pedestrian was killed and identified as 60-year-old Elizabeth Coss. The driver of the van was taken to a hospital, but their injuries are unknown at this time. The incident is now under investigation.
