Man Arrested Following Darlington Co. Stabbing Incident

A search was then conducted using drones and bloodhounds to locate Melvin Atkinson.

Darlington County police arrested one man in connection to a stabbing incident.

Around 10pm on Monday, deputies responded to a domestic situation along Ashland Road in the Hartsville area.

A victim was located suffering from several stab wounds. They were transported to a hospital to be treated but their condition is unknown.

A search was then conducted using drones and bloodhounds to locate Melvin Atkinson. He was eventually arrested and charged with attempted murder, first-degree burglary and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Atkinson is being held on a $55,000 bond on the burglary and weapons charged, but denied bond on his attempted murder charge.
