Local Filmmaker Wins Award At Austin Comedy Film Festival

Billy Rydstrom's 'Very Abridged Comedy Show' won the 'Best Sketch Comedy' award.

A local independent filmmaker recently won big at the Austin Comedy Film Festival in Texas.

Over the weekend, Billy Rydstrom’s ‘Very Abridged Comedy Show’ won the ‘Best Sketch Comedy’ award. The short film is 15 minutes of over 20 skits that Rydstrom made with the help of his close friends and family.

Rydstrom is a local to Myrtle Beach and a Coastal Carolina University graduate. He attended the festival alongside his wife Amanda, and son Hudson, to commemorate the achievement.
