CCU Pitcher Nominated For NCAA Woman Of The Year Award

Nicolette Picone was named the 2025 Sun Belt Pitcher of the Year and Sun Belt Tournament Most Outstanding Player.

Coastal Carolina University softball pitcher has been selected as a NCAA Woman of the Year Award nominee.

The program recognizes graduating female student athletes from all three NCAA divisions for their academic success, athletic accomplishments, leadership, and commitment to community service.

Nicolette Picone completed an impressive four-year career this year. She was named the 2025 Sun Belt Pitcher of the Year and Sun Belt Tournament Most Outstanding Player. She also helped lead the Chants to its first-ever Sun Belt Conference tournament championship title.

Nationally, she ranked among the best in NCAA Division I. There are 30 finalists, 10 from each division, the overall NCAA Woman of the Year will be honored at the NCAA Convention. That event is typically held in January.
