14-Year-Old Student Detained Following Bomb Threat
The middle school continued to operate under normal conditions following the situation.
A 14-year-old was detained in regards to a school threat in Georgetown County.
The Rosemary Middle School student allegedly typed a threat to “blow up” the school on a school-issued computer.
The threat was discovered by the district’s online monitoring system dubbed light-speed. The school safety department and resource officers were notified.
The student was detained and their home was searched during an investigation but authorities did not discover any explosive materials.
The juvenile was then released to their parents and is now subject to the school district’s disciplinary policy and charges are expected.
