The City of Myrtle Beach announced rules on political signage ahead of this year’s election.
Residents who are registered to vote will choose a mayor and three council members on November 4.
City officials said political yard signs are allowed on private property within 45 days of an election and must be removed five days after the election. The signs must be no bigger than two-feet-wide or two-feet-tall.
The temporary signs are not allowed on public property, rights-of-way or utility poles. Illegally placed signs will be immediately removed and a violation could result in a misdemeanor.
