Federal Judge Tosses Trump’s $15B Lawsuit Against The New York Times

The judge gave Trump 28 days to file an amended complaint that should not exceed 40 pages.

A federal judge tossed out a $15B defamation lawsuit filed by President Trump against the New York Times.

The judge ruled that Trump’s 85-page lawsuit was extensively lengthy and full of “tedious and burdensome” language that had no bearing on the legal case. The judge gave Trump 28 days to file an amended complaint that should not exceed 40 pages.

“A complaint is not a megaphone for public relations or a podium for a passionate oration at a political rally,” the judge said.

Trump is suing the New York Times over alleged defamation in articles and a published book. His legal team plans to continue the lawsuit “in accordance with the judge’s direction on logistics.”
