NCAA Eliminates College Football’s Spring Transfer Portal Window
The move to eliminate the portal comes after many opinions that the spring period created too much roster instability.
The NCAA has officially eliminated the spring transfer portal in college football.
The administrative committee decided to move to a single transfer portal window. That proposed window would start January 2 and end January 11. However, the NCAA plans to decide the official dates during a meeting next month following a feedback period.
It’s possible the transfer portal window could be pushed back or extended after more opinions are heard. However, there’s not much wiggle room given the academic calendars across the country. If players want to participate in spring practices at their new schools, they need to be enrolled.
