1st Grader Suspended After Bringing Firearm To School

The boy was immediately separated from his class. He will now face a 365-day suspension.

One child has been suspended after an incident at a Robeson County school.

On Thursday, a 1st grader at Pembroke Elementary School was found in possession of a gun.

It was reported that a staff member noticed an unusual object on the child’s side prompting them to pull him to the side which led to the discovery of a firearm.

The boy was immediately separated from his class. He will now face a 365-day suspension.

The school day continued to operate on a normal scheduled and no injuries were reported during the incident.

Local law enforcement is now further investigating the situation.
