22-Year-Old Identified As Suspect In Charlie Kirk’s Assassination
Charlie Kirk was participating in a Q&A event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday when he was shot and killed.
The suspect accused of assassinating Charlie Kirk has been identified.
22-year-old Tyler Robinson of Utah is currently being held in Utah County Jail. The charges that allow him to be held include aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm and obstruction of justice. Robinson has not been charged formally yet, and initial charging documents aren’t available at this time.
Authorities released surveillance video footage Thursday pleading with the public to identify the possible suspect. That prompted one of Robinson’s family members to come fourth and confirm his identity. Robinson was quickly taken into custody around 33 hours following the assassination. Further details regarding the suspect are limited as investigators work to learn more.
Kirk was participating in a Q&A event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday when he was shot and killed. His body has now been transported to his home state of Arizona where a funeral is expected to be held next weekend.
