Man Arrested Following Barricade Situation In Robeson Co.

The stand-off lasted for around four hours before officials deployed tear gas into the home.

One man was arrested following a barricade situation in Robeson County.

Around 11am Sunday, police were called to East Robeson Drive off of Old Allenton Road outside of Lumberton on reports of a victim shot.

Upon arrival, the suspect barricaded himself inside a home. Additional backup was called to the scene including SWAT, Criminal Investigation Detectives, the Aviation Division, and Crisis Intervention Team Negotiators.

The stand-off lasted for around four hours before officials deployed tear gas into the home. The man was detained shortly after 4pm.

It was reported that a small fire broke out but was quickly extinguished. Further details are limited as an investigation is underway.
