Man Arrested After Multi-Agency Chase Ends In Crash
Horry County police were informed of a chase coming from Surfside Beach on Highway 17 Business.
One man is behind bars after a multi-agency chase ended in a crash.
Horry County police were informed of a chase coming from Surfside Beach on Highway 17 Business.
25-year-old Christopher Coleman was speeding, passing cars in turn lanes, ignoring traffic lights and traveling over 80mph when HCPD took over.
The suspect turned onto 19th Avenue S. into heavy traffic before reaching a dead end. He then made a u-turn back onto Highway 17.
The suspect was traveling over 100mph when he turned onto Harrelson Boulevard. His car then went on to crash into another vehicle at the Highway 15 intersection.
Coleman then fled the scene on foot before he was captured and handed over to the Surfside Beach Police Department. He now faces charges of failure to stop for blue lights and reckless driving among other offenses after running from police.
Coleman is being held at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on a nearly $5,000 bond.
