Kraft Heinz Is Splitting Into Two Companies

The new deal will reverse most of the $46 billion merger that created one of the biggest food companies in the world.

Kraft Heinz announced it is splitting into two companies. Neither company has an official name at this time.

The first will primarily offer shelf-stable meals and will be home to several brands including Heinz, Philadelphia and Kraft Mac and Cheese. That company on its own would have had $15.4 billion in 2024 net sales, with around 75% of those sales coming from sauces, spreads and seasonings.

The second new company will be a “scaled portfolio of North America staples” including items such as Oscar Mayer, Kraft Singles and Lunchables. That company would have had around $10.4 billion in 2024 net sales.

The new deal will reverse most of the $46 billion merger from a decade ago that created one of the biggest food companies in the world. The split comes as food companies continue to breakup aiming to divest from slower-growth categories and impress investors.
