Details Released Following Fatal Shooting Of 16 Y/O

16-year-old Trey Wright was found lying in the road suffering from two close-range gunshots to his chest.

Additional details have been released following the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old boy.

The incident unfolded on June 24 along N. First Neck Road in the Johnsonville area of Florence County.

Police were called to the scene around 11:40pm to find Trey Wright lying in the road suffering from two close-range gunshots to his chest. He later succumbed to the injuries he sustained.

Witnesses reported that 19-year-old Devan Raper was responsible and fled in a white Mazda SUV driven by a female with three passengers.

It was revealed that an altercation took place regarding a relationship and a series of provocative messages being exchanged via Snapchat.

Further investigation revealed that the incident was a result of a planned confrontation that escalated into violence.

Raper was charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Wright’s girlfriend, 17-year-old Gianna Kistenmacher is also facing a murder charge. She was recently granted bond and released to home confinement.

Other arrests include 17-year-old’s Braylyn Thompson and Sydney Kearns as well as 18-year-old’s Hunter Kendall, Corrine Belviso, and Jaden Auclaire. Several others were also detained in connection to the shooting.
