Horry Co. Fiery Crash Results In Death Of Two People

A 2025 Peterbilt dump truck was traveling west when it struck a Chevy SUV that was stopped for traffic.

A crash in Horry County resulted in the death of two people and one hospitalization.

The accident occurred around 4:30pm Wednesday along Highway 22 near the Waccamaw River.

All Aynor bound lanes were closed off to traffic as crews worked the scene.

49-year-old Earl Burnette died after his vehicle was pushed over the concrete bridge railing and into the water.

35-year-old Flora Beltran-Gomez also died in the crash when her vehicle was initially struck by the dump truck and caught fire.

The other was transported to a hospital to be treated for injuries but their current condition is unclear. The driver of the dump truck was not injured.

The accident is now under investigation.
