Study Shows Venting Doesn’t Reduce Anger
Many people believe that blowing off steam helps you cool down, but a new study suggests the opposite.
Researchers found no solid evidence that venting, running, or even hitting something actually eases anger. Instead, they say calming activities like deep breathing, yoga, or meditation are more effective. And while venting might feel good in the moment, the study shows it can actually reinforce aggression with jogging being the activity most likely to do that.
