A restaurant in Myrtle Beach is closing.
Anchor Bar is a New York based eatery first launched in 1964 before expanding into Maryland and Texas. The Myrtle Beach site was the first South Carolina location and opened in 2024 along N. Kings Highway.
The owners have been awaiting an appeal in front of the state’s liquor license board for just over a year. They recently planned to refrain from pursuing renewal of its license and continue operating as a family based restaurant offering food.
However, the owners have now decided to shut down completely at the end of this month. They said that they put a lot into the business, but it was not what they envisioned.
The eatery was best recognized for their signature wings.
