Men and Women Reflect on Their Mistakes Differently

A new study suggests men and women don’t always handle mistakes the same way.

Researchers found a specific RNA marker tied to mood-related decisions, like feeling regret over missed chances, deciding when it’s time to move on, or reflecting on past choices. The study showed that women were more likely than men to change their decisions because of regret or by putting too much weight on past investments. Scientists say this may help explain why women are diagnosed with depression twice as often as men.
