Trump And China Extend Trade Truce Deadline

The previous deadline was set to expire at midnight Tuesday.

President Trump extended a trade truce with China for another 90 days.

The U.S. leader signed the executive order for the extension, but all other elements of the agreement remain the same.

The previous deadline was set to expire at midnight Tuesday. That would have resulted in a tariff increase on Chinese imports that are already at a 30% high.

The increase was expected to prompt Beijing to respond with retaliatory levies on U.S. exports to China.

The pause gives the two biggest economies more time to work out some of their differences in hopes to reach an agreement.
