Stolen Car Recovered After Gunfire Exchange In Georgetown Co.
Occupants of a Chevy Impala and Honda Accord were traveling down a street and reportedly exchanging gunfire.
A stolen vehicle was recovered after shots were fired in Georgetown County.
Around 12:30am Monday, police were called to the 2000 block of Gilbert Street in Georgetown.
Upon arrival, witnesses reported that they saw a white Chevy Impala and a black Honda Accord driving down the street while exchanging gun fire.
The Impala was witnessed fleeing the scene, prompting a brief police vehicle and foot pursuit. That car was confirmed to be stolen out of Darlington County and two handguns were recovered.
One suspect was taken into custody with the help of a K9 unit. Their identity was not publicly revealed.
There were multiple shell casings found at the scene. A pick-up truck that was reportedly damaged by gunfire. An investigation is underway.
