The Bridge2Bridge Run offers a scenic and rewarding course through historic Georgetown,
starting at the Rice Museum Clock Tower.  This year’s event promises an exhilarating experience with a 5K, 12K, 13.1-mile half marathon, and a free, 1-mile Kids Fun Run welcoming little runners ages 12 and under. With over 1,000 participants in last year’s race, the 2026 event is expected to break records once again, drawing walkers, runners, and spectators from near and far. New for 2026, runners can enjoy the added benefit of professional pacers to help them stay on track, as well as a VIP Post-Race Reception featuring light bites, live music, and special guests.

Friendship Place has worked tirelessly for over two decades to provide crisis support and promote self-sufficiency within the Georgetown County community. The non-profit’s initiatives include feeding the hungry, praying with and for neighbors, providing childhood literacy tutoring and teen engagement in a high-energy, fun environment, and creatively addressing unmet needs in cost-effective ways.

Volunteers are vital to the run’s success, and the race committee welcomes individuals and groups to contribute their time and enthusiasm. Opportunities include pre-race registration assistance, course setup and various race day tasks. Those interested in volunteering can sign up at bridge2bridgerun.com/volunteers.
