Hit And Run Victim Identified As Vacationer From Kansas City

Two people were struck by a vehicle at the intersection of 21st Avenue S. near Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach.

We now have more information on a hit and run that resulted in the death of one person.

Around 12:30am on Sunday, two people were struck by a vehicle at the intersection of 21st Avenue S. near Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach.

26-year-old Dezhon Overton died from the injuries he sustained. The woman’s condition is unknown at this time. The pair were on vacation from Kansas City.

Myrtle Beach police used their License Plate Recognition cameras to locate the suspect’s vehicle. 39-year-old Bryan Thomas was arrested and charged with two counts of hit-and-run including one involving death. He was released from the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on a $50,000 bond.
