Etiquette Expert Shares Food Commandments for Traveling by Plane
From tuna, to nachos, to ribs....? Who's eating those on planes?!
Thou Shalt Not Eat Smelly Foods. No tuna, no garlic or onion, no hard-boiled eggs, or strong cheeses . . . and for the love of all that is holy, no fish or seafood.
Thou Shalt Not Eat Messy Foods. This includes things like ribs, powdered doughnuts, spaghetti, chili dogs, nachos, and sloppy joes.
Thou Shalt Not Eat Foods with Allergens. A bag of peanuts, or a packet of peanut butter would be safer for everyone if it was consumed in an area with open air.
Thou Shalt Not Overindulge. Here’s what the expert said, “Overindulging in alcohol can be a nuisance in itself, plus alcohol can dehydrate you and amplify the effects of the altitude . . . Staying hydrated will make your flight much more enjoyable.”
