Youtube To Launch AI Powered Tool For Teen Safety
The feature will be tested in the coming weeks among a small set of U.S. users, before rolling out to a wider audience.
Youtube announced plans to launch a new feature aimed at keeping youth safe.
The tool will be powered by artificial intelligence and will be able to assess a person’s age based on the types of videos they have watched. It will also review the categories of videos and how long the person has had their account, regardless of the birthday associated with it.
If the tool identifies a person under the age of 18, it will take extra steps to regulate content by disabling personalized ads and limiting repetitive views of certain content, among other tasks.
If Youtube is incorrect, the user can upload a form of identification to address the issue.
