Man Charged With Kidnapping After Traffic Stop
23-year-old Zion Estakio is accused of refusing to let the victim out of the car after picking her up.
One man has been arrested after a traffic stop was conducted in Myrtle Beach.
Shortly before 4am on Sunday, officers stopped a vehicle near 21st Avenue N. and N. Kings Highway.
The driver was speeding 53 mph in a 35 mph zone. Warrants reported that the back right door of the car was opening while the vehicle was moving.
When the driver came to a stop, a victim came out of the car crying claiming that she was kidnapped.
23-year-old Zion Estakio is accused of refusing to let the victim out of the car after picking her up from an unknown location.
City cameras showed the victim attempting to exit the vehicle. Estakio also reportedly threatened the victim.
Separately, police found a substance that tested positive for cocaine in plain view.
Estakio was charged with driving under suspension, open container in a vehicle, speeding, failure to surrender, kidnapping, and a drug charge.
