NYC Police Officer, Three Other People Injured During Manhattan Shooting

27-year-old Shane Tamura double-parked his vehicle and entered the 44-story building alone armed with an M4 rifle.

A New York City police officer and three other victims were shot and killed inside a Midtown Manhattan office building Monday.

27-year-old Shane Tamura double-parked his vehicle and entered the 44-story building alone armed with an M4 rifle.

The suspect opened fire in the lobby before taking an elevator. He opened fire again on the higher floor and eventually fatally shot himself.

The building houses offices for Blackstone, the NFL, KPMG and others. It appears Tamura’s target was the NFL Headquarters but he used the wrong elevator.

Tamura had a history of mental illness and a rambling note was found on his body. It suggested he had a grievance against the NFL over a claim that he suffered from CTE.

Tamura played high school football in California nearly two decades ago, but he never played in the NFL though he seemed to blame the league. His note said his brain should be studied after he died.
