One Person Detained Following Barricade Situation In Horry Co.

A large law enforcement presence was witnessed in the area of Sagittarius Drive.

One person was detained following a barricade situation in Horry County.

Thursday afternoon, a large law enforcement presence was witnessed in the area of Sagittarius Drive off of Crystal Lake Drive near the Prestwick community of Surfside Beach.

Around 4:30pm, reinforcements arrived to assist and at one point officials were heard talking through a bullhorn.

Ambulances were on standby but after about 50 minutes, the situation was resolved and one person was taken into custody.

No injuries were reported and further details remain limited at this time.
