Ohio Officers Injured During Apparent Ambush
The suspect was described as a 28-year-old man, who was fatally shot on the scene.
Officers in Ohio were met with gunfire during an ambush Wednesday.
Two police officers were parked side-by-side in their patrol vehicles at the end of a dead-end road to eat lunch. They were located in an undeveloped industrial park in Lorain.
The suspect was armed with an “arsenal of weapons” and appeared to be waiting for the officers before firing multiple rounds at both officers sitting in their vehicles.
Each of them were injured prompting a third officer to respond to the scene to help. That officer was then shot multiple times in his patrol vehicle.
Additional officers who responded to the scene helped transport the wounded to hospitals. Other officers returned fire on the suspect who was armed with a “high-powered rifle.”
The suspect was described as a 28-year-old man, who was fatally shot on the scene. His name has not been released and a motive remains unknown.
The man is believed to be the only shooter. An investigation is underway.
