Trump Announces Trade Deal Reached With Japan

The agreement involves placing a 15% tax on goods imported from that nation.

President Trump announced a trade deal is in the works with Japan.

The agreement involves placing a 15% tax on goods imported from that nation.

The president said Japan would invest $550 billion into the U.S. and would “open” its economy to American autos and rice.

Trump added, it will create hundreds of thousands of jobs and there has never been anything like it. He also stated that the U.S. “will continue to always have a great relationship with the country of Japan.”

The 15% tax on imported Japanese goods is a decrease from the 25% rate that Trump said would be enforced starting on August 1.

The new trade agreement will reportedly benefit both sides and help them work together.
