Myrtle Beach City Council Approves New Juvenile Curfew Timeframe
The curfew was was placed following several criminal incidents involving teen violence in the city.
The Myrtle Beach City Council unanimously voted in favor of a motion involving a curfew for minors.
A change was previously enforced during the Fourth of July holiday weekend. It was temporarily adjusted from 10pm to 9pm for juveniles under the age of 18.
Now, council members passed a curfew motion that permanently enforces a 9pm-6am timeframe in which minors cannot be out and about without a parent or guardian.
The curfew applies to specific areas including from the beach to Kings Highway, the Arts and Innovation District, as well as city owned parks.
The curfew took effect immediately. It was placed following several criminal incidents involving teen violence in the city.
