‘Strike Of The Wind’ Performances By The Lumbee Tribe Of N.C.

The drama will be performed at the Adolph Dial Amphitheater at the Lumbee Tribe Cultural Center.

An outdoor drama put on by the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina has kicked off.

‘Strike at the Wind’ has been a vital part of the tribe’s culture since 1976.

The performance tells the story of the Lowrie War in 1865. That’s when Henry Lowrie led men in a seven-year battle against those he believed killed his father and brother.

The drama will be performed at the Adolph Dial Amphitheater at the Lumbee Tribe Cultural Center along Terry Sanford Drive in Maxton.

Tickets are $20 with performances being held at 7pm Friday and Saturday and again on July 25 and 26.
